At SYBO, we’re always looking for ways to improve performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. That’s why we’ve upgraded our coffee urns with a brand-new flat heating element—a change designed to enhance your brewing experience from the inside out.

Why We Made the Switch

Traditional coil heating elements have served us well, but they also come with a few drawbacks: susceptibility to mineral buildup over time. Our new flat heating element solves that.

What Is a Flat Heating Element?

Unlike traditional coil elements, the flat heating element sits directly at the base of the urn, offering broader surface contact and more even heat distribution. Think of it like upgrading from a space heater to radiant floor heating—smoother, cleaner, and more efficient.

Key Benefits

Faster, More Even Brewing
The flat element allows for consistent temperature throughout the tank, meaning your coffee brews evenly from the first drop to the last. No cold spots. No overcooking.

Better Energy Efficiency
Because it maintains a steady temperature, the flat heating element uses less power while still delivering a full, rich brew.

Improved Durability
With fewer exposed parts and a sleeker profile, the element is less prone to corrosion, buildup, or mechanical failure.

Safer Design
The urn is engineered not to bring water to a full boil—this helps protect users from potential burns, while still reaching the optimal brewing temperature for delicious coffee.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you’re using a newer SYBO 100-cup or 50-cup coffee urn, you’ll want to follow minimum fill guidelines for the flat heating element to work at its best:

100-Cup (SR-CP100B) Model: Fill at least 70 cups of water

50-Cup (SR-CP50B) Model: Fill at least 35 cups of water

This ensures the brewing cycle runs long enough to fully extract the coffee grounds and give you a rich, full-bodied flavor.

Brewing Made Better

We designed this upgrade with busy cafés, offices, and event spaces in mind—places where quality and consistency matter most. The new flat heating element is just one more way SYBO is evolving to meet the needs of our customers.
